MICROSOFT PLANS XBOX 360 GAMES ON PC AND NEW CONSOLES

According to the leaked internal document obtained by The Verge, Microsoft's strategy aims to expand backward compatibility across multiple platforms. Xbox 360 titles will run on upcoming hardware including Project Helix, a branded PC ecosystem, and portable gaming devices. The initiative suggests Microsoft is moving toward a unified gaming ecosystem where software functions across different device types and form factors. This aligns with the company's broader strategy of platform agnosticism and maximizing Game Pass library accessibility. The disc-to-digital program mentioned in the leak appears close to launch. This feature would allow players to convert physical Xbox 360 discs into digital versions, removing the need for disc drives across new devices. Microsoft has not officially confirmed these plans. The company currently supports backward compatibility on Xbox Series X|S for select Xbox 360 and original Xbox titles.
